There’s a long list of athletes who have been accused of leaving crappy tips at restaurants, clubs, and other establishments in the past. From Michael Jordan to Allen Iverson to Tiger Woods, there are some pretty big names on that list. And now, it includes Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams, who reportedly left a 75-cent tip for a waitress at a restaurant called Ledo near Washington, D.C., where the Steelers are currently staying in preparation for their Monday Night Football game against the Redskins.

It all started on Sunday night when Twitter user @YoYo_Chelsea011—who works with a woman that waited on Williams—used social media to call Williams out for leaving less than $1 as a tip on a $128 bill after eating with some friends at Ledo. In a series of tweets, he "thanked" Williams for the crappy tip and said some nasty things about him:

@DeAngeloRB thanks for the lousy tip. Servers and bartenders only make $4/hr and for someone who make mills can only leave $0.75

— Johan Malcolm (@WitnessSuccess_) September 11, 2016

He then started tagging Stephen A. Smith and ESPN in his tweets in an effort to bring attention to them:

@DeAngeloRB @stephenasmith Stephen A. Smith DO NOT LET THIS MAN take the bill cause he doesnt tip hard working people

And eventually, Williams saw the tweets and responded to them by explaining why he left such a bad tip. He went as far as to say that he felt his 75-cent tip was actually too much and went back and forth with @YoYo_Chelsea011 about why he doesn’t feel he did anything wrong by providing such a small tip. Here’s the entire interaction the two had on Twitter:

You right I tried to leave exact change but couldn't I waited on my food for over 1.5hours got the order wrong then https://t.co/rCqpGGdxmv

Williams also responded to other Twitter users throughout his conversation with @YoYo_Chelsea011:

He wasn't my bartender and what's worst is it was more than myself I was just the guy they knew out the bunch https://t.co/mTFWp9Aoqj

— DeAngelo Williams (@DeAngeloRB) September 12, 2016

And he's continued to respond to people on Twitter on Monday morning:

Oh it was awful https://t.co/MUwLNJj3yt

As for the waitress, she hasn't been identified, but it sounds like she has been relived of her duties at Ledo in light of all the media coverage of this story. According to TMZ Sports, Ledo owner Jimmy Marcos fired her on Monday and offered to make things right with Williams. "I want to offer anything I can do," he told TMZ Sports. "I'll be sure to apologize in person next time he visits and pick up his next meal."
