It’s been a busy week for LeBron James. Between making an appearance at an amusement park in Ohio to speak to more than 5,000 kids, making an appearance on the "Open Run" podcast—where he talked about everything from wanting to own an NBA team to Michael Jordan’s legacy—and making an appearance on The Daily Show, LeBron has literally been all over the map.
The Cavaliers star continued his media run on Thursday morning with an appearance on Good Morning America, where he talked at length about his "I Promise" program, which he plans on using to help a large group of kids graduate from high school and, eventually, college. He has promised those kids a college scholarship if they are able to successfully advance through grammar and middle school, and in the clip above, you can hear more about the progress they’re all making (shout out to the teachers threatening to tell "Mr. LeBron" when kids don't do their homework!).
LeBron touched on a bunch of other topics during his GMA appearance, too. He spoke about how great it felt to bring a title back to Cleveland:
He also spoke about how he believes pro athletes need to go back into their communities to help bring about change:
He talked about how great it is for him to give his own children the things he never had growing up:
And he also answered a question about whether or not he thinks he has a future in Hollywood:
But in the end, it all came back to basketball with LeBron speaking on the upcoming season, which is right around the corner:
LeBron still has a longer interview with Rachel Nichols that is set to air on ESPN's SportsCenter, too. Stay tuned for it.
