Glen Rice Jr. was arrested in Georgia on Monday and charged with felony battery, aggravated battery, and marijuana possession after he allegedly punched a friend and broke his jaw before fleeing the scene with two bags that contained two guns, including an AK-47 assault rifle.
According to TMZ Sports, Rice Jr. and Jordan Callahan, a former Tulane basketball player, were driving in a Porsche at around 6:30 a.m. Monday when the two men pulled into the parking lot of a supermarket, got out of the car, and started arguing. At one point during the argument, Rice Jr. allegedly punched Callahan in the face and knocked out one of his teeth. A police report indicates Rice Jr. then retrieved two bags from the Porsche and took off on foot. Police arrived on the scene a few minutes later and, after speaking with Callahan, they gave chase and located Rice Jr. They also located the bags, which were reportedly hidden underneath a pile of leaves and contained the AK-47 as well as a Taurus .38 special. A third gun was also located inside of the Porsche, and police discovered Rice was carrying $2,700 in cash and six cell phones on him at the time of his arrest.
This isn't the first time Rice Jr. has been involved in a bizarre run-in with police over the course of the last year. Back in October, he was shot in the leg outside of a restaurant owned by T.I. in Atlanta, and he was later arrested after police found 240 grams of marijuana inside of a backpack in his car while investigating the shooting. TMZ Sports reports Rice Jr. just finished a pre-trial intervention program stemming from that arrest.
