Despite losing DeAndre Yedlin to a pair of yellow cards in the 48th minute, the United States held on to defeat Paraguay in their Group A matchup on Saturday. Now, the team will advance to the Copa America Quarterfinals, where they'll play either Ecuador or Peru (depending on how Sunday's games play out).

While Clint Dempsey scored the game's only goal on Saturday, John Brooks is being heralded as the hero for his defensive play. Afterwards, coach Jurgen Klinsmann told the media, "John Brooks, with a performance like this, I guess all of Europe is watching that. This is a big statement what he did tonight."

The U.S. begins knockout play on Thursday, June 16 in Seattle.
