“I was in an Uber yesterday and…”

Are you still having trouble understanding why so many people out there love Steph Curry? If so, then look no further than the seven words in the quote above. During a media session with reporters on Wednesday afternoon, Curry used those seven words while talking about a conversation he had with an Uber driver on Tuesday when he was going to…well, does it really matter where he was going?

Curry is a two-time NBA MVP and the first unanimous MVP winner in NBA history. He is on the brink of winning his second straight NBA title. He is scheduled to make more than $11 million this season and more than $12 million next season (not to mention all the millions he'll make once he signs a new deal in 2017). And he is OUT HERE CATCHING UBERS!

The reporters who were seated in front of him on Wednesday were so surprised to hear him mention Uber that one of them asked Curry to repeat what he said just to confirm that he had heard him correctly:

Media members and fans started tweeting about it immediately:

And almost every reporter who asked Curry a question after that slipped in something about Uber, including a question about how Uber drivers react when they pull up and Curry gets in:

Uber hasn't responded to the free plug yet, but if they haven't offered Curry an endorsement deal already, they need to do it, like, now.

Oh, and before you ask, yes, reporters asked LeBron James about Uber, too. He said he has taken an Uber but he doesn't have an account of his own:

It's one day before the start of the 2016 NBA Finals and Uber is dominating the conversation, folks. It's probably time to start the games!
