J.R. Smith is really enjoying himself right now, isn’t he? From the amazing speech he delivered during his post-game press conference after Game 7 of the NBA Finals to the incredible celebration he took part in following Game 7 in Las Vegas, Smith has savored every single second since helping the Cavaliers win their first NBA championship ever. At this point, even President Obama has weighed in and talked about Smith’s epic post-Finals celebrations.

On Thursday, the Cavaliers sharpshooter calmed down for at least a few minutes—and put a shirt on (is everyone happy now?!)—so that he could sign some autographs for Cavaliers fans. And one fan decided that now would be the perfect time to try and get Smith to sign a piece of pipe in honor of Smith’s legendary “You trying to get the pipe?” DM. Grant Packo, who uses the Twitter handle @Grant_Packo, stood in line to meet Smith with piece of PVC pipe and—what do you know?—Smith actually agreed to sign it for him. Packo shared a photo of Smith signing the pipe as well as a photo of the autographed pipe on Twitter:

Of course, Twitter loved what Packo did. His photo was retweeted more than 1,500 times, and people praised him with tweets like these:

There was one guy who wasn’t happy about all the attention Packo received, though. As Packo was being praised by people, his fellow Cavaliers fan JJ Morrison pointed out that he had done the same exact thing back in March when he got Smith to sign a piece of pipe for him:

Morrison retweeted his original tweet—which has only been retweeted about a dozen times since it went up—and then ripped Packo for “getting famous” off his idea:

Fortunately, cooler heads eventually prevailed. After Packo realized Morrison had actually gotten Smith to sign a piece of pipe first, he followed him on Twitter and sent him a DM about the situation:

All this over a piece of PVC pipe? Yup. This summer is going to be wild for J.R. Smith.
