As we told you on Wednesday, ESPN arranged for Craig Sager to work his very first NBA Finals game on Thursday night during Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals. Even though Sager is technically employed by TNT, ESPN and Turner came to an agreement that allowed for Sager to work the sidelines in Cleveland. And he’s making the most of the opportunity.

Sager did an interview with NBA TV prior to the game:

Our very own Craig Sager will be helping ABC cover Game 6 tonight..Sager spoke with @NBATVJared before the big game. https://t.co/427VanJ3LO

He spoke with Steve Kerr at the end of the first quarter and got him to crack a joke despite being down 20 points:

Craig Sager talks with Steve Kerr about the #Warriors bad start.#SagerStrong

And during a timeout in the second quarter, the entire crowd at Quicken Loans Arena gave Sager a standing ovation when he was shown on the Jumbotron:

Huge ovation for Craig Sager as he's introduced on the big screen ... very cool.

Those in attendance enjoyed the moment as much as Sager did:

This is obviously a special night for Sager, and it’s been great to see him in action.
