Ayesha Curry's Conspiracy Theories Aren't Crazy

Before, and after, the Warriors were embarrassed in Game 6 on the NBA Finals Thursday and her man suffered the indignity of getting ejected for the first time in his career, Ayesha Curry had a lot of say on social media. 

Steph's better half fired off a number of tweets—many of which were later deleted but thankfully screenshot by good Samaritans—that added fuel to the never ending fire that are NBA conspiracy theories. 

No league bodies conspiracy theories quite like the NBA and based on a number of things that went down in Quicken Loans Arena that skewed heavily in favor of the Cavs, Ayesha Curry rantings and ravings aren't all that far fetched. Hear us out because we're about to explain why Ayehsa wasn't talking crazy. 

If you haven't heard someone say the NBA is rigged, you ain't living right. Even the players joke about it. 

The league has been dogged by accusations that it manipulates the outcomes of games, series—even trades—since what feels like forever. For starters, we could talk about the frozen envelope that delivered Patrick Ewing to the Knicks at the 1985 NBA Draft lottery. Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals. Former commissioner David Stern 86ing  Chris Paul to the Lakers trade. The whole Tim Donaghy debacle. That's just scratching the surface. What about this?

But back to the present, or recent past: how many examples do you want from Thursday alone?

Kevin Love's Quick Calls

Did the Cavs want the refs to blow the whistle on Love so he could sit on the bench? Did his teammates want him to get into foul trouble early so he could save face instead of floundering on the floor for a second straight night? You be the judge. 

Shot Clock Malfunction

In the middle of the game, the shot clock just stopped working and no one on the court noticed? Unfortunate oversight or diabolical plotline? 

Steph's Soft Fouls

Those were the softest of soft fouls called on Steph. Is Charmin the NBA's newest sponsor? A week ago, Game 4 actually reminded you of the glory days when the Knicks and Heat would batter each other for 48 minutes. The refs called NOTHING that night and it was glorious (especially if you took the under). 

This has been the highest rated NBA Finals in years and, as Ayesha Curry alluded to, you know the NBA would love, love, love for it to go seven games and reap the rewards of a massive do-or-die game between its two biggest stars. But is the NBA really rigged? I mean...no. We're going to give the Association the benefit of the doubt and say everything is not predetermined. But from a gambler's perspective, it sure feels like it when you come out on the losing end and you knew it before the game tipped.—Adam Caparell

First of all, kudos to the Cleveland Cavaliers and whoever in their organization decided to keep all of the family and friends of the Golden State Warriors out of Quicken Loans Arena until moments before the game actually began. Brilliant. The people at the arena will say it was because of "congestion" from Jay and Bey, but we know the truth. Ayesha Curry was totally right in pointing out that this is an irregular (and petty) move by their opponents, but her anger and frustration only proves how much this actually worked. Can you imagine how many texts the Warriors's players were getting during shootaround?

"WHY DOES BEYONCE GET TO GO IN BEFORE US??? HER MAN CAN'T EVEN THROW A FOOTBALL! —AYESHA"

"DRAYMOND'S MOM WON'T STOP YELLING AND RILEY IS GETTING UPSET. I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE MVP. DO SOMETHING.—AYESHA"

There's no rule that says players' wives have to be prioritized, but if she's searching for conspiracy theories, maybe it was the league itself that told security to stop them from going in early. Either way—it worked. Brilliant strategy by the Cavs and/or the league and if the Warriors are smart, Gloria James won't even sniff her Game 7 seat at Oracle until halftime.—Maurice Peebles
