EA Sports are geniunely changing the game with FIFA 17.

Football fans have grown pretty used to hearing that the latest installment of the world's favourite sports video game franchise will be the best one yet but – for the first time in several years – EA Sports are making radical changes to FIFA as we currently know it.

Two weeks before EA Sports told the world about what to expect from FIFA 17 at E3, we got to grips with FIFA 17 at a hands-on experience in Stamford Bridge.

Here's everything you really need to know about FIFA 17.

1. The beautiful game has never looked this good

2. FIFA 17 is actually the world's newest RPG

Dan McHardy called this "the biggest change to FIFA since Ultimate Team" and it's the one game mode that's got absolutely everybody talking.

'The Journey' is a new story mode that puts players in the boots of Alex Hunter, a new prospect at a Premier League club of your choice. Unlike FIFA's now-retired Be-a-Pro mode, this truly lets you live life as Alex Hunter – cinematic cut scenes will take you behind-the-scenes at home, the training ground and the stadium. In a scene that we played out, we even saw Harry Kane do his first bit of voice acting in a cut scene that sees him joining Leicester City.

From what we saw, you can't (yet) drive Alex Hunter to the training ground or hit the front pages for all the wrong reasons by taking him to a club (it's not quite Grand Theft Auto), but your actions on the pitch does change the storyline. A hat-trick will see you thrown in front of the post-match TV cameras – where you're given a range of answers to choose from to shape your player's personality – while a sending off will see you sent to the manager's office on Monday morning.

3.

On the subject of managers, The Journey will include the likes of Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger and the rest of the Premier League managers for the first time. Alan Pardew's touchline jig is something we've always wanted to see.

4. Set pieces have been completely revamped

5. Meet the new faces of FIFA

6. FIFA 17 will be full of goals
