Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris was detained Thursday at Philadelphia International Airport for checking a bag that contained "suspected marijuana," according to CSN Philly. Morris was taken to the Tinicum Township Police precinct for questioning. He was heading on an international trip when "a suspicious item" was found in his bag.
Neither the airport nor police were able to confirm the detainment with Complex. Tinicum Township Police said more information would be made available Friday morning.
Morris was released on his own recognizance, according to the CSN.
Morris, 26, just wrapped up his fifth season in the NBA. His twin brother, Marcus, plays for the Detroit Pistons. The Morris brothers were born and raised in Philadelphia.
Markieff Morris was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Wizards in February. He averaged 12.4 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game this season.
