If you were to ask Ozzie Guillen about his Chicago White Sox manager interview, he wouldn't be able to give you any details of what happened on that day. Why? Because he was blackout drunk. On October 25, 2003, the Florida Marlins defeated the New York Yankees, 2-0, in Game 6 of the World Series to take home the Commissioner's Trophy for the second time in franchise history. As a coach for the Marlins, Ozzie celebrated (of course!) the win by going to the house of catcher Ivan Rodriguez.

The following day, Guillen was scheduled to meet with White Sox president Kenny Williams to interview for the vacant manager job, and he was in no shape to try winning over the Chicago organization. At first, Ozzie was ignoring the alarm and even his wife. Eventually, Guillen did make it to his meeting with Williams, but he doesn't remember anything that went down that day.

While Guillen doesn't know what he did to secure the White Sox managerial job, it worked. Ozzie went on to post a 678-614 record during his seven-year tenure with Chicago. During that time, Guillen helped lead the team to a sweep over the Houston Astros in the 2005 World Series. That same year, he was named the American League Manager of the Year. Eventually, a few years of tension turned the relationship between Guillen and Williams sour and led to his dismissal from the organization.
