Since returning to the NFL following his July 4th fireworks accident, Jason Pierre-Paul has slowly started to speak out that career-altering night and how he has battled to get back on the field. In his latest interview with Sports Illustrated, Pierre-Paul revisits the place where it all went down and relives what happened in the hours leading up to his tragic injury.

In his eight games last season, Pierre-Paul was only able to record one sack. Still, the New York Giants strongly pursued JPP this offseason, signing him to a one-year, $10.5 million deal. Now, the 27-year-old defensive end wants to simply move on from this incident and focus on returning to his 2014 form, or even better, show signs of his 2011 self when he had 16.5 sacks.
