Famed boxing promoter Bob Arum, whose job partially includes boosting up Manny Pacquiao, told TMZ Sports that a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch is "close to 50/50 but probably leaning more toward the fight happening ... more likely than not." Still he admits there are some big obstacles in the way. The biggest of which is the fact that both men are freaking retired.
Arum admits he's talked to neither fighter about a second fight, but believes Pacquiao would "come back for this match." He also added "If either man agrees to fight, my feeling is that they won't be able to resist." The 37-year-old Pacquiao is currently running for senate in his native country of the Philippines. While the 39-year-old Mayweather is currently still flaunting his wealth on Instagram.
Just last week Mayweather's father said, when asked about the prospect of a potential rematch, "I'm not going to say Floyd won't fight again."
If you're a pay-per-view buyer, this sounds an awful lot like a "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" situation.
