Can you imagine an NBA team featuring LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, andChris Paul on it? It seems like something you would only find on an NBA 2K video game. But according to LeBron himself, IT COULD HAPPEN!

Bleacher Reportpublished a very (very!) long story called “Brotherhood” today that delves into the unique relationship that LeBron, Carmelo, D-Wade, and CP3 have, with a specific emphasis on the LeBron/Carmelo connection. According to the story, LeBron, Carmelo, and D-Wade had a phone conversation back in 2006 that included them discussing their futures and the possibility of them playing together one day. And while it obviously didn’t happen—in part because Carmelo signed a five-year contract that summer instead of a three-year deal like LeBron and D-Wade—there’s a chance those three players and CP3 could end up on the same team before the ends of their respective careers. LeBron went as far as to tell BR that he hopes it happens.

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together,” LeBron said. “At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that…It would be pretty cool. I’ve definitely had thoughts about it. We’ll see.”

“We’ll see”? Hmmm…This could be fun, and it could help Carmelo and CP3 win a ring. But if the four guys are serious about making it happen, they better not wait too long to do it. Like, they should fire up the ESPN Trade Machine now and get to work, because the clock is definitely ticking.
