Heather Holmes of Bay Area TV station KTVU is reporting that more than $40,000 worth of Super Bowl 50 tickets were stolen from Hotel Nikko San Francisco. Local police told Holmes that four men entered a conference room of the hotel before coming away with the tickets, just two days before the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos square off at Levi's Stadium

According to USA Today's Brent Schrotenboer, the average selling price, as of Thursday, was $4,879. However, a person from Phoenix, Ariz. shelled out as much as $27,983 for just two tickets while one individual in Palo Alto, Calif. bought four tickets for $24,168 each on StubHub
