During his NBA career, Shaquille O’Neal adopted the nickname Superman. Dwight Howard did the same thing when he came into the league and, as you might expect, Shaq didn’t like it. So over the years, Shaq has gone at Howard over and over and over again, due in large part to the fact that he feels as though Howard stole his nickname, which is kind of funny, because Shaq stole his nickname from, well, SUPERMAN (and all the other "Supermen," both inside and outside of the sports world, who have used the nickname, too). But anyway…
As a result of the whole Superman saga, Shaq has taken a bunch of shots at Howard over the years. There was:
- The time he dissed Howard in a freestyle
- The time he said Howard couldn’t handle the spotlight in Los Angeles
- The time he called Howard “too nice”
And on and on and on…
Shaq doesn’t like Dwight. And he added to the barrage of shots he’s taken at Howard over the years by sending one more in his direction today. For whatever reason, Shaq jumped on Facebook this afternoon and uploaded this Photoshopped picture that shows him dunking over Howard while both are, curiously, outfitted in Magic uniforms:
Why did Shaq pick today of all days to go at Howard? Who knows? But one thing we do know is that Shaq still hasn’t gotten over the Superman thing. And at this point, he probably never will.
