On Saturday night, TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin is supposed to take the field at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas to lead his Horned Frogs against Oregon in the Alamo Bowl. But his status for the game is currently unknown following an incident that he was allegedly involved in last night at a bar in San Antonio.
According to News 4 San Antonio, Boykin got into a fight with several people at a bar called Pat O’Brien’s after exchanging words with them. Security reportedly threw Boykin and the people he was fighting with out of the bar, and the fight allegedly continued on the street. That’s when several police officers on bicycles showed up to try and stop the fight and, when they did, reports indicate that Boykin hit one of them. The police were reportedly able to subdue him after threatening to tase him, and he was placed under arrest. Boykin has been charged with assault of a public official, resisting arrested, and public intoxication.
TCU released a short statement this morning indicating that they are looking into the situation. We will be sure to update you when new details about the incident become available.
