A few months ago, Tom Bradyproudly displayed one of Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats in his locker. He also talked at length about his friendship with the Republican Presidential candidate and said, “I hope so,” when he was asked if he thinks Trump has a serious chance to land in the White House. And despite some of the controversial comments that Trump has made in recent weeks, Brady isn’t turning his back on him now.
During his regular radio appearance on WEEI today, Brady was asked about Trump again. And after joking, “Can I just stay out of this debate?” he revealed that he’s still a Trump supporter.
“Donald is a good friend of mine,” he said. “I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine. He’s always been so supportive of me. For the last 15 years, since I judged a beauty pageant for him, which was one of the very first things that I did that I thought was really cool that came along with winning the Super Bowl. He’s always invited me to play golf, and I’ve always enjoyed his company. I support all my friends in everything they do. I think it’s pretty remarkable what he’s achieved in his life. You’re going from business, kind of an incredible businessman and then a TV star, and then getting into politics. It’s three different career paths. I think that is pretty remarkable.”
Brady also said the the Trump hat is still in his locker. So yeah, he’s Team Trump all the way. If he hasn’t given up on Trump by now, he’s clearly in it for the long haul.
