UPDATE: A spokeswoman says that Early was released from the hospital Wednesday morning, which is certainly a positive sign.

See original story below.

Cleanthony Early of the New York Knicks was shot in the leg and robbed after leaving a strip club early this morning, according to multiple reports.

The New York Daily Newshas the details:

Early was surrounded by four to six people wearing ski masks and robbed of his items and jewelry — including a gold necklace and gold caps on his teeth, sources said.

WABC-TV is reporting that the attackers demanded his jewelry, which included a large gold necklace and the gold caps on his teeth.

Early is the second Knicks player to be targeted recently. Derrick Williamshad $750,000 in jewelry stolen by two women he brought home after a night at the club. Other NBA players, like Jahlil Okafor of the 76ers and Thabo Sefolosha of the Hawks, have been involved in similarly scary incidents over the past few months.

Early is reportedly in stable condition. The second year player is averaging 3.4 minutes per game in 10 appearances for the Knicks this season.
