It's no secret that the ratings for the WWE's main program, Raw, have been lackluster in 2015. Just a few weeks ago, the Monday night program drew a 2.16 rating, the lowest it's hit in 19 years. Reports from back in September had WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon reportedly "freaking out" over the drop in the ratings, which is no doubt why he returned to Raw a few weeks ago to resurrect his Mr. McMahon character as a surprise to fans:

As one would guess, the ratings for that post-TLC edition of Raw did increase (it helped that Roman Reigns finally won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the same night), and while McMahon was nowhere to be seen during last week's ho-hum Slammy Awards edition of Raw, the WWE has announced that Mr. McMahon will be returning this Monday night to Raw, no doubt to address what happened at the end of Raw two weeks ago (and featured McMahon eating a Superman Punch from Reigns).

McMahon isn't the only return, though.

Last night, as previously reported, John Cena returned to the WWE after taking some time off for "personal reasons" (aka the filming of a military-themed reality show). While it was initially said that Cena would be facing Sheamus at the December 26 WWE house show at Madison Square Garden, Cena returned to face the man who took his United States Championship back in October, Alberto Del Rio.

The WWE has announced that Cena's Raw return will be against Del Rio, and alongside the return of McMahon, should be a nice year-end boost to the Raw rating. Cena's return is also a boost for the roster, who has been plagued by injuries and Superstars that just aren't over to the fans in general. Also, look for this show to help set the tone for the 2016 Royal Rumble, which will take place on January 24.
