Jarryd Hayne Approached to Make Soccer Debut

Jarryd Hayne approached to suit up for Australia in an exhibition match against Liverpool FC.

If your a @LFC fan in Sydney then you'll have to come out #jan7th and watch the legends play the @Socceroos Legends @ANZStadium

Ex-NRL star and current NFL player Jarryd Hayne could be making a second code switch in early 2016, after being approached to represent Australia in an exhibition match.

Liverpool FC will be in Sydney to take on the 'Australian Legends' in an exhibition match on January 7. The teams are made up of former greats including Brett Emerton, Craig Foster and Robbie Slater for Australia, who will take on a team of Liverpool legends including Steven Gerrard, Dietmar Hamann, Fernando Morientes and more.

The lineup is sure to explode out of the gates, heavily wrapped in medical tape and smelling of Deep Heat. The ageing lists are likely the reason event promoters have approached Hayne to join the Australian team for a spot on the wing, where he'll match up against his football idol Steven Gerrard. Hayne is a life-long Liverpool fan, who first supported them because he thought they represented the south-west Sydney suburb of Liverpool, not far from where he grew up in Minto.

I first support @LFC in the @EngishPL because I thought they were from Liverpool in the S/West of Syd. Now there actually playing in Sydney

Nothing has yet been made official, however the word is Hayne is keen to play in the green and gold, marking a third football code for the former Eel.
