There has been a lot of speculation about who Holly Holm will fight next. Everyone obviously wants to see her get back into the Octagon against Ronda Rousey for a rematch, but Rousey has to sit out for at least the next six months as a result of the injuries she suffered during her fight with Holm at UFC 193. So it has been unclear whether or not Holm would fight someone else while she waits for Rousey to recover.

It doesn’t sound like she will. UFC president Dana White spoke with the Los Angeles Times this week and said “it’s Rousey” when asked about Holm’s next opponent. Furthermore, he confirmed that the fight will likely take place at UFC 200 on July 9, 2016 at a new arena in Las Vegas.

That date could change, depending on Rousey’s status. Holm's manager Lenny Fresquez, for one, doesn't think Rousey will be ready by July.

“I’m not sure Ronda will be ready for a July fight,” Fresquez told the LA Times. “She took a severe beating and I don’t think it’s in her best interest to take the next fight so fast. They told me she’s been ready and cleared, but...”

Either way, it doesn’t sound like we’ll see Rousey or Holm back in the Octagon until they’re back in it together. Stay tuned for more concrete details concerning their second fight.
