During the Bengals/Steelers game on Sunday afternoon, Pittsburgh running back Le’Veon Bellsuffered a torn MCL that will keep him out for the remainder of the season. The injury took place on a play that featured Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict tackling Bell. And while it didn’t appear to be a dirty play, at least one of Bell’s teammates didn’t like the tackle.

Steelers backup linebacker Vince Williams took to Twitter very early Monday morning to tell Burfict that there is going to be a problem if he ever runs into him in Miami:

Williams has since deleted his tweet. But Burfict caught wind of it and responded to him with this:

Burfict also spoke with the Cincinnati Enquirer and revealed that there is no way he meant to injure Bell as Williams suggested.

“We won, he’s mad they lost,” he said. “I have nothing to say about it. It was a clean hit. Le’Veon is a friend of mine. I didn’t intentionally mean to hurt him. It’s football.”

Burfict might not have anything to say about Williams, but we’d imagine the NFL league office will. How long before they send Williams a fine for blatantly threatening an opposing player on social media?
