The Los Angeles Lakers weren't expected to be good this season, so the fact that they're winless after their first three games shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.

No one really knew what to expect from Kobe Bryant, however, as he entered his 20th professional season healthy following two injury-plagued campaigns. But based on what we've seen so far, he could be in for as rough of a year as his teammates.

After L.A. fell at home to Dallas on Sunday, and after Bryant once again struggled mightily to hit shots, he succinctly summed up his play to this point of the season. Baxter Holmes of ESPN.com has the details:

"I'm the 200th-best player in the league right now," Bryant said after the Lakers' 103-93 loss to the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center on Sunday, during which Bryant scored 15 points on 3-of-15 shooting from the floor. "I freaking suck."

Here's an example of what he's talking about:

The problem thus far has partly been related to the shots Bryant has been taking. Of the 51 shots he's attempted, 29 of them have been from three-point distance, and he's knocked down just six. That's a result of a stagnant offense where everyone is trying to do too much individually, and as we've seen with this version of the Lakers over the past couple of seasons, that's not something that's likely to change anytime soon.
