Now we know why Kristaps Porzingis has been setting the NBA on fire less than a month into his career.

He listens to Future before games.

The 7-foot-3 Knicks forward, who has surprised nearly everyone by averaging 13.7 PPG and 9.1 RPG through 15 games, appeared on The Michael Kay Show on ESPN Radio Tuesday. And when co-host Don La Greca asked the Latvian what he’ll be listening to before Wednesday’s game against the Magic in Orlando, Porzingis did not hesitate.

“Future,” Porzingis said. “A little Future…and a little bit of Drake.”

The fourth pick in June’s NBA Draft, Porzingis’s love of hip-hop isn’t a surprise to those who have followed the rookie. The 20-year-old admitted over the summer that he got his sense of American culture by visiting WorldStar every day and pictures of him sporting cornrows as a kid recently emerged.

What a time to be a Knicks fan.
