In the weeks leading up to Holly Holm’s fight with Ronda Rousey, most people didn’t think Holm could beat Rousey once. Now, they’re wondering how many times Holm would win if she fought Rousey ten times.
Holm's win clearly wasn’t a fluke, so would she be able to win five out of 10? Six out of 10? Seven out of ten? Or would Rousey find a way to recapture her title and reclaim the throne by beating Holm over and over and over again?
We highly doubt they’re actually going to fight ten times. But during a recent interview with the New York Times, Holm was asked how many times she would win if she had ten fights with Rousey. Her response? Well, it probably won’t surprise you.
“Ten,” she said. “Because if I tell myself that there is one that I might not get, then I’ll be vulnerable.”
Realistically, would you expect her to say anything else? The Times could have asked her how many fights she would win out of 100, and she probably would have said "100!"
But it is kind of crazy to think that, a month ago, the idea of Holm beating Rousey once was laughable. That’s obviously not the case anymore.
