Greg Hardy won't sign your mini helmet. But he will pull out a $100 bill and sign that.

The controversial Dallas Cowboys pass rusher was at a promotional appearance Monday night when fan Jeremy Smith approached him with a Carolina Panthers mini helmet—the team Hardy used to play for. According to the Dallas Morning News, Hardy turned down the request but offered up an alternative.

However, Hardy quickly found a solution, reaching into his pocket to grab what appeared to be a wad of cash. He peeled off a $100 bill, signed his nickname "Kraken" and handed it to Smith.

Smith said he "was a little irritated" at Hardy initially "because I spent $37 on the mini helmet. But he offset it by throwing down the $100 bill. I was a little surprised. It made me feel better."
