Between his base salary and his signing bonus, Tom Brady stands to make somewhere in the range of $14 million this year. He’ll also rake in a significant amount of money from the various endorsement deals he has. And his wife Gisele is currently selling a coffee table book that costs $700, so we’re guessing he’s good to go when it comes to money. But even with all of that money coming in, the Patriots quarterback couldn’t turn down a $10 bill that was given to him by a 6-year-old boy earlier this week.

Gabriel Aljalian was diagnosed with leukemia three years ago. At that time, he started something called “Gabriel’s Day of Kindness” that calls for him and his family to do something nice for their community every November 3. So when Aljalian got the opportunity to play catch with Brady recently thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he decided to give Brady a card explaining the day. And in addition to the card, he slid him a $10 bill just to say thank you.

Here’s an explanation from the “Gabriel’s Day of Kindness” Facebook page:

This weekend, Make a Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island fulfilled Gabriel's wish: to play football with New England Patriots' Quarterback Tom Brady. It was an unforgettable experience for Gabriel and the timing made it a perfect end to a wonderful week. Gabriel wanted to let Tom Brady know about Gabriel's Day of Kindness, so we prepared a small card explaining it. Gabriel also wanted to do something nice for Tom Brady for playing football with him, so he made him a thank you card and decided to give him $10 that someone had very kindly given him earlier in the week (the beauty/innocence of childhood). When we shared the cards with him, and told him that Gabriel wanted to give him his $10, the football great was so surprised, and visibly moved. His response was genuine and kind; he then smiled, leaned down and asked Gabriel to give him a hug. Indeed, no act of kindness - towards anyone, however large or small - is ever wasted. (Edited: to clear up some confusion and since many are asking - Tom Brady did keep the $10 Gabriel gave him. Which was wonderful and gracious - Gabriel would have been heartbroken otherwise. The entire experience with Tom Brady and the Patriots is one that Gabriel will never forget.). New England Patriots Make-A-Wish America Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island NFL New England Patriots Charitable Foundation Dana-Farber Cancer Institute The Jimmy Fund Boston Children's Hospital
