Baltimore Ravens Kicker Justin Tucker Missed a Field Goal Because Levi's Stadium's Field is a Giant Sinkhole

The field at Levi's Stadium is really, really bad

The Baltimore Ravens fell to 1-5 today after losing at San Francisco 25-20, and it was mostly due to quarterback Joe Flacco being very un-elite and throwing the ball directly to the other team

But early in the fourth quarter, with the Ravens down 19-13, kicker Justin Tucker lined up for 45-yard field goal that could have brought the Ravens within three points. Instead, Tucker's plant foot sunk in to the turf as something like a miniature sinkhole opened up, causing Tucker to slip and fall while his kick went careening off the uprights.

The turf at the 49ers Levi's Stadium has long been criticized, and despite re-sodding the thing multiple times since the stadium opened just one season ago, it clearly hasn't gotten any better. Pretty soon, the stadium is going to look like what Heinz Field did in "The Dark Knight Rises."
