Former NBA Star Al Harrington Signs With Sydney Kings

Al Harrington set to join fromer Atlanta Hawks teammate Josh Childress at the Sydney Kings

Another former NBA star has inked with an NBL franchise, as the Sydney Kings announce their latest signee Al Harrington.

Harrington, a versatile 6'9" combo forward, was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 1998, starting a career that took the NJ native to several teams including the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks, where he played alongside fellow King Josh Childress.

Childress is out temporarily with a broken hand, which prompted the Kings to find a replacement on the wing.

“Al is a good friend of mine and I’m looking forward to him joining the Kings,” said Childress. “He was the first person I reached out to when the team spoke of an injury replacement.”

“Al is obviously very talented, but he also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and is a quality person.”

Harrington will suit up for the Kings on Friday October 30 at the Qantas Credit Union Arena (Sydney Entertainment Centre), playing his debut against the 2-4 Townsville Crocodiles.
