Derrick Rose has been extremely unlucky where injuries are concerned. The fact that he suffered an orbital bone fracture during the very first practice of the season is the latest in a long list of ailments he's dealt with, as detailed by the folks at FOX Sports with this infographic:

That's an insane amount of injuries by any reasonable standard, so when adidas decided to go with "Never Break" as its slogan for Rose's latest signature sneaker, people (somewhat predictably) couldn't wait to throw some shade.

@footlocker @sportspickle @adidasHoops breaks so easy he might as well be perforated #badshoename #drose

@darrenrovell The irony.

@darrenrovell should be "Never Play"

And there were many others.

Now, the people at adidas are obviously as aware of Rose's injury history as anyone, considering how much the company has invested in him as an endorser. This is likely meant to be an inspiring slogan, as in, never permanently break, but it's clear that plenty of people decided to take the words at face value.
