Last week, Steelers defensive end Cam Heywardwore eye black with the words “IRON HEAD” on it to honor his late father Craig Heyward, who died after battling cancer back in 2006. The NFL responded by celebrating fining him.

So yesterday, Heyward decided to send a message to the NFL by doing it again. Rather than heeding their warning and leaving his eye black blank, Heyward took the field for his team’s game against the Cardinals with the words “IRON HEAD” scrawled on it again.

So far, there’s been no word from the league as far as a fine is concerned, but Heyward probably won’t know whether or not he will be fined until later this week. If he is fined, the Steelers should seriously consider picking up the tab for him because, well, the idea of fining a guy more than 10 grand for honoring his late father is every bit as dumb as it sounds. Or better yet, every bit as dumb as telling a guy who lost his mother to cancer last year that he can’t wear pink to honor her memory.

SMH. Let's hope the league does the right thing here.
