As we've told you on several occasions now over the course of the last few weeks, the WWE needs to do something to stop their fans from interrupting their live events. Most recently, a fan jumped into the ring during the Night of Champions PPV on Sunday and had to be tackled and escorted out by security. So it sounds like the WWE might finally be ready to dish out some real punishment to people who do this kind of thing.

According to PWInsider, the fan who jumped into the ring—identified as 37-year-old Oscar Ramirez of Houston—has pleaded guilty to a criminal trespassing charge for what he did during Night of Champions. As a result, he will now need to serve ten days in jail. And he could have faced up to six months in jail had he decided to take his case to trial.

If nothing else, this should serve as a deterrent for other fans thinking about jumping into the ring during live events. The WWE is taking a stand and, hopefully, it will stop fans from doing dumb things like what Ramirez did on Sunday night.
