Stephen A. Smith has absolutely no time for professional athletes who get themselves into trouble as a result of using marijuana. In the past, he has sounded off on them, and "Stay OFF the weed" has actually turned into somewhat of a catchphrase for him. However, during today's episode of ESPN First Take, Stephen A. took it a step further during a discussion about Ronda Rousey's recent comments about weed.

Stephen A. started off the discussion by calmly explaining that pro athletes need to follow the rules. But at one point during his argument, he also suggested that weed could be slowly destroying society as we know it. He prefaced his comments by saying that other people are the ones who have brought it up. But by pointing it out, he basically seemed to co-sign their opinion on it.

"You also have to understand that in our society, there are people who are making arguments that marijuana is a gateway drug," he said. "It serves, you know, it serves the purpose of facilitating the use of stronger drugs down the line, which could very well inhibit the progress of our citizens in our relatively civilized society."

Translation: Weed is so bad that it may be stopping the human race from moving forward. Er, or something.

You can check out Stephen A.'s entire point in the clip above and, if you can stomach it, you can hear what Skip Bayless had to say about weed, too.
