Today Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley is slated to make his much-awaited debut in the NFL, something we're sure many people have looked forward to since he was drafted 10th overall this past spring. However he had to wait an additional 30 minutes because the team's dumb pyrotechnics caused a patch of turf to set fire for "roughly 5-10 seconds" during pregame introductions (look at the bottom right):
This was no doubt a disappointment as well to the dozens of fans who decided to show up:
Luckily the NFL is a billion dollar organization that has extremely professional procedures in place for handling just such an occurrence:
