Last month, Kevin Durant came out and said that he believes he's the best basketball player on the planet. We're going to guess that he heard when LeBron Jamescalled himself the best basketball player in the world during the NBA Finals last season, but it didn't stop him from having confidence in his own abilities.

"No disrespect to anyone else," he said during the Team USA minicamp in Las Vegas, "but I feel like I'm the best player in the world."

And during a Nike promotional trip to Spain last week, KD doubled down on those comments when a fan asked him about the "best in the world" debate. He talked about how good he thinks the Thunder are going to be next season before reiterating his belief in him being the best right now.

"Yes," he said, "I'm still the best player in the world."

In reality, would you expect him to say anything else? It's not like he's going to come out and say, "Hmmm…I'd probably say I'm fourth or fifth best now, especially since I suffered another foot injury last season." But stuff like this will make KD's return to the court that much more exciting in the fall.
