Beer Strike Could Hit AFL Finals

The true test of how much we truly enjoy watching AFL could be upon us, as a potential beer strike looms over the 2015 finals series.

Only a few kilometres from the MCG, staff at the Carlton and United Brewery in Abbotsford are salty with management after seven months of salary negotiations have reportedly gone nowhere. Staff have voted in favour of work stoppages, which have the potential to leave footy fans beerless during the finals series.

Opposition leader Matthew Guy couldn't resist the urge to turn this into a political issue, saying "We've got train strikes, tram strikes, cab strikes, beer strikes, we are becoming Victoria the state of strikes". He's clearly missing the point though, as fans would likely prefer the state of strikes over the state of soft drinks.
