Maurice Claretthas made a lot of mistakes in his life. Once upon a time, while he was still playing for Ohio State, he was considered one of the best NFL prospects in college football. However, a string of bad decisions led him down the wrong path and, eventually, he found himself in trouble with the law.

This makes him the perfect person to speak with today's college football teams, which is why several programs have invited him to speak this summer. Most recently, he spoke with the Florida State team and made a really stunning admission. He revealed that, back in August 2006, he led police in Columbus, Ohio on a high-speed chase with loaded guns in his car and fully intended to end his life by getting into a shootout with them at the end of it.

"I wanted to have a shootout," he told the FSU players, "with the purpose of me basically killing myself."

Fortunately, that didn't happen. Police subdued Clarett that night before he did anything to harm himself or others and, while he did end up in jail a short time later, it probably saved his life.

You can watch Clarett speak with the FSU team in the clip above. Hopefully the players were listening because this guy obviously knows what he's talking about.
