Sorry for the bad news, Bears fans. Earlier today, Bears general manager Ryan Pace announced that Kevin White, the team's 2015 seventh overall pick, will undergo leg surgery. The news comes just one day after White told the Chicago Sun-Times that he feels like he could play. "If it was up to me, I would be out there. I want to be practicing tomorrow," he said. "But it's not my call. I've got to follow the rules."

Amid growing concerns over the stress fracture in his shin when White was still experiencing discomfort this week, the organization opted to have a rod inserted into the leg of the West Virginia product to stabilize the tibia. White will be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which requires him to miss the first six games of the season. However, there is a possibility that he could miss his entire rookie campaign.
