You know what, it's been a while since we heard DeMarcus Cousins' name attached to some possible trade rumor. Maybe people are finally getting the hint that the Sacramento Kings want to kee—wait, nevermind. According to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report, Cousins could start the season on the trading block, along with the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony and the Nets' Joe Johnson.
Here's a transcript of Beck's comments, courtesy of Pro Basketball Talk's Kurt Helin:
“Sacramento, I think, wants to hold onto him. Certainly the onwer Vivek Ranadive absolutely wants to hold onto DeMarcus Cousins. But I’ve been told if you polled the rest of the organization, the vast majority are in favor of trading DeMarcus Cousins and that would include, though he denies it, coach George Karl.”
Trade rumors are nothing new to Boogie, who responded to this latest report with three words. Well, the same word, just three times.
And Cousins wasn't the only person within the Kings organization to offer up their two cents on the rumor. The Kings' vice president of basketball and franchise operations Vlade Divac and owner Vivek Ranadivé also had something to say.
While the front office's support is a great thing to have, it would probably be a more worthwhile endorsement if head coach George Karl had a Twitter and came to Boogie's defense on this matter. Until then, Cousins should probably still be considered tradeable.
