Unless you're a really avid CrossFit fan, you probably don't know who Dave Driskell is. Yes, he does have almost 70,000 followers on Instagram, but he's currently ranked No. 102 for CrossFit—in Asia—so he's not exactly a household name here in America. But yesterday, he put himself squarely into the international spotlight by taking one of the dumbest Instagram photos that we have ever seen.

Driskell had a 15-hour layover in Berlin, Germany before a flight on Monday and decided to use his spare time to check out the local sights. He drank some beer, ate some bratwurst, and visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a Holocaust memorial in Berlin. He even climbed up on the memorial, did a handstand on it, and snapped a photo for Instagram. You know, because who doesn't want a photo of themselves doing a handstand on top of a memorial devoted to those who died in the Holocaust? Welp:

People were obviously outraged by this, and they took to the comments section of Driskell's IG page to let him know about it. He realized what he had done a short time later and removed the photo. But it didn't stop people from ripping him for taking it and, eventually, Driskell was forced to issue a lengthy apology on IG. He claimed that he didn't realize that he was doing a handstand on a Holocaust memorial when he did it and asked people to forgive him. You can read his entire apology here:

Driskell sounds genuinely sorry. As he pointed out, he's also done some pretty amazing stuff due in large part to a bunch of Instagram photos of him doing handstands. So he probably deserves a pass here. But how did he not think to ask what he was climbing on before he did his handstand in Berlin?
