The 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto are officially underway. The games kicked off Friday night at the Rogers Centre with an extravagant opening ceremony featuring plenty of Cirque Du Soleil acrobats, Pan Am and Parapan Am Games athletes from 41 different countries and non-stop thunderous applause from the crowd of 45,000.

The most impressive (albeit mostly pre-taped) moment of the Pan Am Games opening ceremony? Canadian Olympic track champ Donovan Bailey's dramatic entrance.

The retired sprinter reunited with his 1996 Atlanta Games gold medal-winning 4x4 teammates for the last leg of the Pan Am torch relay. Bruny Surin managed to make it to the outside level of the observation deck of the CN Tower, where he took a heart-stopping run around the Edge Walk before stopping and passing the torch off to Bailey. Bailey then pulled on a hood and leaped off the 553.33-metre Toronto landmark. The world-champion sprinter landed on the roof of the Rogers Centre before he descended into the Rogers Centre with the Pan Am flame in hand.
