On Friday, the US Women's National Team wrapped up their whirlwind celebration tour across the country with a massive ticker tape parade through New York's famed Canyon of Heroes.

The squad joins an illustrious list of honorees including the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, astronaut John Glenn and Amelia Earhart. The last woman to be honored was figure skater Carol Heiss after her Olympic win in 1960. So it's been a while.
