Philadelphia 76ers fans may need to wait until next year to see Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor take the floor together. Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the 76ers are expected to announce "as early as next week" that Embiid will undergo a second surgery following a setback in the recovery of his right foot.

Less than a week before the 2014 NBA Draft, Embiid went under the knife to repair a stress fracture in his right foot. Even with this knowledge, the 76ers banked on his potential, selecting him with the third overall pick. After missing the entire 2014-15 campaign, the likelihood of the 21-year-old center out of Kansas playing this year was up in the air. Now, according to Pompey, it appears that Embiid will have surgery. General manager Sam Hinkie and the rest of the Sixers brass are trying to determine how long he will be out, with the entire season as the most likely option.

In the meantime, look for Embiid to focus on his recovery, drawing up plays for his teammates, hollering at Rihanna on social media and of course, trusting the process.
