While Cleveland melts down over Kyrie IrvingBrittney Griner is aiming to end a month-long marriage. TMZ Sports reports that Griner has filed papers to annul her marriage to fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson-Griner.

It was wild while it lasted. Griner and Johnson made headlines for getting into a physical altercation in their home back in April. Although this got them suspended for seven games, the two got married on May 8 in Arizona.

Johnson announced she was pregnant only yesterday. And today, there's been an anullment filed. So yeah, it's been a pretty capricious romance that's ended just hours before the season opener.

UPDATED: Griner spoke to espnW about the news. This wasn't a sudden decision. Griner said she felt pressured to go through with the marriage.

Last Wednesday, Glory & I agreed to either legally separate, get divorced, or annul our marriage. I can confirm that today I filed for an annulment.

In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake.

The fact that the decision was made Wednesday does contradict the above Instagram post showing them as a happy couple, which was posted this morning. Johnson was impregnated by "a donor's sperm," and it has no biological connection to Griner, according to BuzzFeed News.
