The last time a horse won the Triple Crown way back in 1978, Twitter didn't exist. In fact, THE ENTIRE INTERNET DIDN'T EXIST. So as you might imagine, people are having a lot of fun on the social media site right now in the aftermath of American Pharoah's Triple Crown victory. There are a lot of Twitter users congratulating him, gossiping about how much money he's going to rake in thanks to his epic win, and, of course, comparing him to Michael Jordan.

Wait…WHAT?! Yeah, that's right. Twitter is taking it there, and it's actually pretty entertaining. Scroll down to see what we mean. It's all fun and games until Skip Bayless shows up on First Take on Monday and says American Pharoah has a better clutch gene than LeBron James...

Michael Jordan would beat American Pharoah in a game of one-on-one #BelmontStakes

American Pharoah only won the Triple Crown cuz Jordan retired!!!

American Pharoah is dominant but he'll never be better than Michael Jordan.

Fair question: was Jordan better than American Pharoah?!

"Yeah but Secretariat won by like 30 lengths." - Michael Jordan fans discussing #AmericanPharoah's win today #TripleCrown

But Michael Jordan won 6 titles. Talk to me when #AmericanPharoah does that. Right now he is barely Dirk Nowitzki #TripleCrown #HaterTweets

Could American Pharoah win in MJ's era?

— Brian Kelly (@HT_BK) June 6, 2015

Could Michael Jordan beat American Pharoah right now?

— Andrew Little (@AJLittle304) June 6, 2015

Yeah, but is American Pharoah better than Jordan?

— Mike Cabrey (@mpcabrey) June 6, 2015

American Pharoah is pretty good but Jordan still has 6 rings.

Now the debate begins:
Is American Pharoah elite?
Is American Pharoah clutch?
Michael Jordan or American Pharoah?
