Los Angeles’ bustling Fairfax scene just got busier with the opening of Oakley’s new community space.

Last night West Coast skate royalty like Ryan Sheckler, Curren Caples, and Sean Malto broke it down to DJ sets from Atiba and Ako Jefferson of The Blackouts to celebrate the opening of Oakley in Residence: Los Angeles. It’s a brand new community space designed to shed light on the creative obsessions of the skate world.

Brought to life by skate artist collective, The Art Dump, an art exhibition highlighting eight legendary skate spots, from the depths of the Pink Motel to the sets of Santa Monica. Eight different artists designed one-of-a-kind decks, with a custom flag representing their local spot. Exhibiting artists include Art Dumpers Andy Jenkins, Andy Mueller, Jeremy Carnahan, Eric Anthony, Chris Waycott, Carlos Gutierrez, Nate Hooper and Nick Zegel.

This is the first of three Oakley in Residence brand hubs that celebrate passions rooted in sports as part of their ONE OBSESSION campaign. The Los Angeles space is free and open to the public, with different workshops, exhibitions, athlete meet-ups, skate sessions and film screenings happening daily from 11am – 8pm at 7763 Melrose Avenue through May 10.
