Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is currently under investigation after an alleged aggravated assault occurred outside of a Dallas nightclub. According to WFAA-8, Talib and his brother Yaqub were questioned by police at the scene, and were allowed to leave, but without their cars—the two vehicles the Talib brothers arrived in were searched and towed from the club.

This comes almost a year after Dallas police mistakenly identified Aqib as the man arrested for "causing a disturbance," when in fact, they had arrested his brother Yaqub.

No further details have been released at this time, and charges haven't been filed yet.

Aqib has had multiple run-ins with the law in his NFL career, including two separate arrests for assault, one of which involved a gun. We'll update this story as more information comes in.

Between the Chris Copeland stabbing and this, well shit, pro athletes in America could've used backup last night. Stay out of trouble, kids.

UPDATE: The Dallas Morning News is reporting that three unidentified black males were involved in an altercation outside of the nightclub at around closing hours. Police responded to a dispatch at 2:09 a.m. calling about a male shooter on foot.

According to a nightclub employee, there was a disturbance inside the club, and when he escorted the parties outside, one of the three men tried to punch him. He kicked back in defense, and someone pulled a gun on him, at which point he ran back inside.

The police added in a statement, “Witnesses outside the location observed a Black male outside fire a round into the air, which caused an immediate panic. All of the involved individuals left the location.”

Hanney Kamal, the nightclub's owner, confirmed to the Dallas Morning News that the Talib brothers were there during the disturbance, but all three left on their own accord. When asked about a gun being fired, he said, “One-hundred percent that did not happen.

“I was there. Somebody might have called the police because there was a yelling argument. It’s athletes — someone sees them yelling and dials 911. But there was nothing to that nature. Nothing happened. It’s just a typical nightclub. You’re always going to get people yelling.”

So, right now: Conflicting reports from the club owner, his employee, and the police. When asked to comment, a Broncos spokesperson told USA Today, “We have been in touch with Aqib regarding these reports and will continue to monitor the situation.”

We will too, and will continue to update as the story becomes less murky.

UPDATE: Dallas police has suspended their investigation. Read their statement below:
