The Raptors' Amir Johnson may actually have a point when he compared Paul Pierce's comments to Viagra.

“We haven’t done particularly well against Toronto, but I don’t feel they have the ‘It’ that makes you worried. There isn’t a team I look at in the Eastern Conference that makes me say, ‘They are intimidating, we don’t have a chance.'” This is coming from Paul Pierce who made that comment while speaking with Jackie MacMullan in an ESPN.com interview published earlier this week. With the Raptors set to play Pierce's Washington Wizards in the first round starting today, those remarks have come to the forefront. Even after the 37-year-old forward attempted to clear what he said

When asked about what Pierce said about the Raptors, Amir Johnson had a pretty entertaining response.

“To me personally, I think that’s just to get Paul Pierce going, you know? Older guy, a vet, you know, he needs to get himself going and I think that’s what those comments are for. It’s just like, you know, when you use Viagra, you know, how do you get yourself going?”

Basically, trash talk is Pierce's basketball Viagra? Sounds like it could, oddly enough, be true. But that could also apply to many of the old school players in the league today, like Kevin Garnett, who loved to get into an opposing player or team's head with his words and/or actions. But it's not for everyone. So ask your doctor if trash talk is right for you.
