Real Madrid's 16-year-old sensation Martin Odegaard is about to break a Champions League record.

The Norwegian sensation joined the European Champions in January from hometown club Strømsgodset IF after going on trial at several of the world's biggest clubs. Now, according to reports, Carlo Ancelotti is already preparing to make Odegaard the Champions League's youngest ever player.

World Soccer Talk reports that with Real Madrid confident of advancing to the Champions League quarter-finals following a 2-0 win over Schalke 04 in the first leg, Ancelotti is ready to give Odegaard a run out in the return match at the Bernabeu.

Odegaard has already clicked with Cristiano Ronaldo in training.

If Odegaard plays against Schalke, he'll beat Celestine Babayaro's record of being the youngest player in Champions League history – Babayaro was 16 years and 87 days when he played for Anderlecht against Steaua Bucharest in 1994.

Since moving to Madrid at the start of the year, Odegaard has made four appearances with Real's second team – Castilla – and scored one goal.
